WHAT HAPPENED?
PSV defeated FC Groningen 3-1 on Saturday, with U.S. international Malik Tillman ending up on the scoresheet. The midfielder opened the scoring in the match, drilling home a curling effort from inside the box 11 minutes into the match.
Midway through the first half, their lead was doubled through Ivan Perisic – while fellow American Richard Ledezma assisted the Croatian for the second of the match. With minutes to spare, a third was added through winger Johan Bakayoko to secure the victory.
U.S. defender Sergino Dest did not make the gameday roster.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
The strike was Tillman's eighth of the regular season in just his second appearance back after falling to injury in January. The 22-year-old played 45 minutes off the bench last weekend in a 2-0 loss to Ajax but logged his first start back on Saturday.
With three points over Groningen, PSV now sit on 61 points in second place – but trail league leaders Ajax by six points with just six games left in the regular season.

WHAT NEXT FOR PSV?
PSV take on Almere City next weekend in Eredivisie action. They'll need three points if they want to continue pushing Ajax for a league title as the campaign winds down.
